Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Collections Harrassment

I am wondering what the laws are about bill collectors calling my home on certain days and during certain hours. Mainly, if they are allowed to call on Sunday's. If they are not allowed to call on Sunday's, how would I go about pursuing a lawsuit?

I am not sure they cannot call you on SUnday...but I am sure that IF you tell them (better to write them) not to call you they cannot. SND MAIL CERTIFIED RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED...so there is a record. If they persist you can sue them...I did the same and won thousands from the offending collection agency.

Search Internet for " Fair debt collection act" it will tell you what you need to know. This is a federal law.

Good Luck!
