Does Co-Signer protect me

There is a judgment against me and a writ of execution has been issued. Can the sheriff take my car even though it's in my name AND my wife's name?

You are not protected. Although the co-signer is not responsible for your debt, the judgment can be levied against jointly owned owned property.
