I have been served with a aoc-cv-406 . i have been talking to a bankruptcy lawyer and am in the middle of filling out all the paperwork to file chap 13. if i file before the 20 day period what happens.

You should file your exemptions within the 20 day window anyway. Something could happen and your bankruptcy could be dismissed after it is filed. Once the bankruptcy is filed, as long as it is pending, further enforcement procedures will not occur. If the bankruptcy is dismissed, further enforcement procedures can start again.
