Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York
Credit Card debt law suit
I was sent court papers to apper in court for a credit card
I stoped paying. I did not go to court and now my case
is in judgement. I called the law firm to work out a payment arrangement but they said that there is still a chance that my accounts can be frozened or my checks can be garnished. I owe $5,000 and told them I can send them $100 a month or more. How can I avoid them taking further actions once I start making payments?

Re: Credit Card debt law suit
They should execute an agreement with you taht as long as you pay as promised (like rent) on or before a certain date monthly, everything is fine. Otherwise, the can proceed as a judgment.
Good Luck
