Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Credit Card Debt

I recently got divorced. By the divorce settlement or agreement my ex-husband was held responsible for paying one of our credit card's debt. Now he is refusing to do so. I wrote a letter to that credit company and sent them copies of our divorce and agreement. Their answer was: since my name is on the account I have to be responsible for all these payments eventhough my ex-husband was supposed to pay it. What should I do? Do I have to pay it?

Thank you very much

Re: Credit Card Debt

Both of you are responsible. The credit card company doesn't care who pays. You may have to go back to court to compel your husband to pay.
