Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York
I have a credit card debt which is 9 years delinquent. They sent were sending me colleciton letters and then stopped. Now I just noticed, nine years later, a new colleciton company entered a new negative trade line regarding the same 9 year old debt and is sending me letters again to collect. Shoudl I answer these letters? Isnt this debt outside the 6 year statute of limmitations to sue? When does the usually SOL start to run? From the time I initially defaulted 9 years ago?

The SOL starts ticking when you made the very last payment, or admitted that you owe them anything of value. It stops when they sue you.
