Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

A creditor has indicated they are coming to "serve papers" to an employee at the private employers place of business. The employer has asked the creditor not to call, but the creditor continues to do so. Can the creditor "serve papers" at the private employers place of business?

When the employer contacted the creditor to get information to file a complaint with the FTC the creditor refused to supply a company name, address, telephone number or fax number.

Service of process can take place any day except Sunday (in most jurisdictions) and at any location where the defendant can be found, including that defendant's place of business. Service is quite common at businesses, be the business public or private. The creditor is not under any obligation to supply the employer with any information whatsoever unless the employer is the defendant in the action.
