Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Our daughter, while single, has incurred significant student loan debt. We have been helping to pay off this debt for a year now since we are co-signers on the loan. Since then, she has married. IF, heaven forbid, anything should happen to her and she dies, who would be responsible for the payoff of the debt? Her husband OR my wife and I? Thanks, Peter

I believe it is still you, as co-signers. It would be different if, let us say, she was the only one on the loan.
