Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

debt

Hello how are you my name is rafaelg .Well iam going thru a problem with a debt that went into court for 1585

dollars.I must pay this amount to some collection agency which they are attorneys working to collect debt.But the real problem is

that these attorneys put a hold an my checking acc and savings acc.and I cannot use non of them.They will not reliese my checking or savings acc until

I pay them full amount of 1585.I tried to contact the bank but the bank said that they cannot do anything that I have to contact the debtors, that they are the only ones that can take away the hold on the acc.When I contacted the collecting agency they told me that they cannot take the hold from checking till i pay them full amount of 1585 dollars.

Then I told them to make an agreement with me they said: ''no ''.They want is the full amount and thats it.Well I iam unemploy looking for a job and i want my checking acc

back with the savings acc. Well I feel like iam being bully by these people .Because iam unemploy. When they took this debt to court I was overseas seen my wife.How can

I pay them if I have no job? Please Help out thank you.

I assume that if you were over seas then you were not served with notice of the law suit and they got a default judgment. When you returned did you find the notice?

If not, you need to go to court to have the default judgment vacated for lack of service (no jurisdiction). Once that happens they will have to release your bank accts and start all over again.
