Hello. Does debt settlement badly affect ones credit? Also, would you be able to recommend trustworthy organizations that offer debt settlement. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Debt settlement can improve your credit rating. It negotiates to have crditors report you as 'paying' and can get some bad reports deleted from your credit report.
One of the best things it can do, if you have ready cash, is to negotiate the amount owed down. 10-50%. For this you need some cash available.
I don't know of any specific organizations, but I have have negotiated some good deals myself on behalf of clients. In addition, sometimes CH7 Bankruptcy is a good option.
