Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

dept relief

I owe more than I can ever repay. I have been out of work for two years. The phone calls come in day and night. What are my alternitives. some banks have talked about a settlement but than I would owe the IRS which I could not pay. My wife does not want me to file bankruptcy because are names would appear in the paper and she could not live with the shame. I am being charged almost 30% interest on my credit cards which is adding as much as 400.00 or more a mounth to my dept. do you have any suggestions to releive this dept.

Re: dept relief

I am not certain why bankrutcy would not be the best option.....and speak with a bankruptcy attorney..I am not certain but I do not think that names are published.

Good Luck
