There are certain funds that are exempt from a judgment creditor. IF they are deposited into a normal checking account the account can be restrained (if the credit card holder gets a judgment). You would then have to start a proceeding to determine which of the funds are exempt and which are not, unless the account is set up SOLELY to hold exempt funds...then, the bank might not allow the credit card company to restrain them. Best thing to do is get ahold of the credit card company and work out a settlement to avoid them suing you and getting a judgment in the first place.
