Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Enforceability of wage garnishment order from out of state court

Suit brought in NJ against NY resident with no connection to NJ. Plaintiff served defendant's elderly mother in NJ. Default judgment obtained. Defendant's employer informed defendant it recieved wage garnishment order. I contacted NJ court and claimed no knowledge of any suit, and no personal jurisdiction over me. I am in process of filing motion to vacate judgment based on lack of personal jurisdiction, but the judge said for now the garnishment stands. Aside from the lack of personal jurisdiction issue, can the garnishment from the NJ court be enforced in NY?
