Re: how can a foreigner retain a lawyer

Generally, there are various steps which can be undertaken. Primarily the first attempts should be one of phone contact in an attempt to see if the money will be paid without further need for courts or any other agency- institution. However, if those attempts are not succesful then there may be a further need to involve the courts through a civil suit for the amount owed, as well as any costs which you may spend in atempting to collect the money owed to you.

Attorney fees in collections are usually contingency based, that is, the client pays for the expenses and the attorney receives a percentage of the amount recovered through suit or settlement.

Feel free to e-mail me with any other questions.

Good Luck
