Can a collection's agency garnish wages even if the job is a free lance part time employment?

The only way wages can be garnished (and it makes no difference what kind of wages it is....) is if you are sued and the party suing you obtains a judgment. Collection agencies cannot sue you...lawyers sue you. If the collection agency is really a law firm, you can be sued and if you are sued and do not oppose the lawsuit, a judgment will eventually be entered. Once a judgment is entered (filed), a wage garnishment can be commenced. All that the judgment creditor has to know is where you work.
