If a grandparent is a cosigner on a student loan do they put a lien on her property for just cosigning?

They can do a lot of things. They would probably try and find bank accounts in their name and freeze them for 2X the amount due, the bank pays and they unfreeze. Sometimes, they freeze up several banks. I had a client owed $5K and the collection agency hired froze $20K-he found two banks.
