Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

I have an Interior Design business. I had a credit card for $5000.00, My business has not been doing well. i tried to make payment arrangements. It is now of the hands of an attorney, they have called to harrass me but the payments that are too high. I have been unemployed since May st. Now it has been turned over to the 3rd district court in huntington NY, the balance is up to 7,000.00 between late fees, overlimited fees an attorney. I have a court date for 11/12/09. all my asseses and savings is gone

what can they do.

They may receive a Judgment. A Judgment lasts for 20 years. With a Judgment they would have a right to any future monies year earn in order to satisfy the Judgment.
