Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Judgement on credit report

I have a judgement on my credit report for $1000 dollars. I took a loan for $3000 dollars to buy furniture. I made payments of $145 a month and i was on time. One day I lost my job and because of the reason why I was terminated I was ineligable for unemployment benefits. I had no money comming in. The furniture company did not care and they went and got a judgement against me. When I went to court and got my job back the furniture company garnished the $1000 balance from my check. This has a negative impact on my credit because prior to loosing the job I made payments on time. Is their anything I could do to get this negative report off my record?
