Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Judgement in questions

To my suprise my bank account was frozen on Friday, and I was told by bank it was due to a judgement. As of today, I have heard nothing from the bank after numerous attempts (calls) to find out what is going on. The bank said that they are not getting an answer from the company that put the freeze on my account. I have not idea what judgement this could be. I was never once served with a paper about this matter and have nothing on my credit report (I have a perfect credit report). This may be a debt from many, many years ago, but I don't know because I've never received anything in writing from anyone.

Do I have any rights or is this matter? How do I get my money back??

Re: Judgement in questions

You need to obtain a copy of the execution that was served on the bank. That will have information about the case, title , index number. If warranted, you or your attorney can then make a motion in the appropriate court to vacate the execution and judgment.
