Re: Statute of limitations on Judgment
If you are talking about a judgment that already exists, and you've done nothing to TOLL (stop) the statute from running, then it is 20 years. However, after 10 years, certain liens created by the entry of the judgment are no longer valid (UNLESS THEY ARE EXTENDED PRIOR TO THE EXPIRATION OF THE 10 YEAR PERIOD) but continue as a general lien for the 2nd 10 years. THe judgment itself can be extended beyond the 20 years by a law suit that is commenced BEFORE the end of the 20 year period and which law suit is based on the soon to be expiring judgment. In effect, it can be extended forever and can be a lien against your estate should you die with property.

20 years
Re: Judgement
It depends on what kind of debt we are taliking about and what the judgment is for: personal = 20 years, commercial = 10, government = never (it survives your death), fraud = your lifetime.
