Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York
Lien on checking acct. re:collecting debt
I've defaulted on payment arrangements for a credit-card debt that's been handed over to a collections agency. They've put a freeze/hold on my personal checking acct., and are in the midst of talking with the original creditor. I've told them I want to work something out and have this freeze lifted. How long can they keep a freeze on my acct?

One (1) year from the service of the restraining notice upon the bank by the judgment creditor, unless the money judgment is satisfied or vacated before then.
