If you lent money to a person in another county (and it was not a consumer transaction), you can sue in one of three places:
the place where you live;
the place where he lives; or
the place where the transaction took place

If small claims court, you must go to their county. If the matter is over $5,000 - not small claims - you can sue the individual either in your county or their county.
