Third party collection agency
A disputed credit card interest only balance of $913 has been sold to a collection agency.Does the agency have the legal right to sue?

Yes they do. But they may not bring it to court for that amount.
Offer them 300 and see what happens. You can always go up or just wait them out the 7 years for the debt to become uncollectible.

You bet...the rights are assigned....any money owed is owed them.
