Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

we payed a deposit for a venue for our up coming wedding and we were promised the contract that night and a week later we finally got a copy of the contract it wasn't what we agreed to at all. we haven't signed anything and after trying to work with these people and three months of hell we just want our money back and all the say is we cant and our contract is a binding contract just because we paid them when we never signed anything and all we want is our money back because they are not willing to change anything or change the contract to what we agreed how do we get our money back? are we in a biding contract just because we paid?

It sounds like you did not enter into a contract, however, the best way to get your money back would be to negotiate with the venue. If you feel that you haven't been able to do that successfully, perhaps you can have an attorney write a letter to their management.
