Question about being sued in small claims court
I am being sued in small claims court, and I am wondering if I do not show up to court and have a default judgement against me, essentially, what can the person sueing me do to my credit. I have no money or assets, because I am a student and can put everything under my mom's name, but I am wondering whether they could have something put on my record if we basically ingore the problem. Obviously, I do not want my credit ruined, so this is my main concern, and hopefully she cannot do anything, but I would like to know for sure. Thank you very much.

Re: Question about being sued in small claims court
Its a regular judgment, just like any other and the creditor has 20 years to collect. i have a case where a debtor was found 14 years later and the money is being taken from his salary today!
If you do not shgow up, you will lose. If you do show up, anything can happen. Give yourself a chance.
