Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Received judgement against me from furniture bought 1978

i bought furniture and paid for it in approx 1978. i have no receipt and just received a judegemt against me for $3528. is there a statue of limitations and how do i prove i paid for this (cash pmnt) so many years ago?

You should have received notice of a court date before judgement was entered against you. Are you sure you have a judgement, or do you just have a claim that you can defend if the matter goes to court?
