Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Hi I just received a summons from lvnv funding llc a/p/o Citibank, for $1,779.82. I had an identity thief issue about 6 years ago most of the debt involved was dropped. the summons didn't say what kind of card or what the debt was from i have 20 days to appear in court to answer the summons. is there anything i can do to fight this ? or am i going to have to pay this thank you in advance

You put in an answer to the complaint. You mail it to the attorney who summoned you. You do not have to appear in court. You can contact the County Bar Association to find out what resources are available to help you represent yourself.
