Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

repo question

Question? Papers were recently filed in court to repo seize our motorcycle. We have tried to reinstate the loan through their att, but they refused. we need a bit more time, to come up with money. My question they filed papers in another county, other than wherewe live, and where we purchased motorcycle - does that buy us any more time, because of a bad filing?

I am not certain what that means...the filing is bad. But you need to legally answer the papaers or a default judgment will be entered against you.

For consumer debt, the case needs to be started in the county in which you live...did you live in that county when the loan was opened? Regardless, you NEED to answer those papers.
