Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

I was server a summons this morning for a credit card debt in upstate NY. At the bottom there is a paragraph stating "This is an attempt to collect a debt. Any information obtained will be used for that purpose. This communication is fron a debt collector.". There is an ink stamp saying "Received by city court". The only signatures on it are from the attorneys and a notary public. Is this legit? Does a judge have to sign a summons?

Legit. A judge does not have to sign a summons. You should contact the City Court to inquire about how to serve an answer.
