Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

settlement on a debt

I have these court documents and a settlement letter. I am confused about them. 1st I never received the summons in person however, the affidavit says otherwise. It was sent to an old address but the server went to another person's house to verify. This was in July 07. I didn't know anything about a judgement until I tried to withdraw money from my acct in Dec 07. It was frozen. I had to call the bank to get the # of the collection agency. I called them and informed them about the summons and said I was in the military. I had to send my orders to them however, the atty said that I don't fall under the SSRA. We agreed on a settlement however, I don't think everything is legal. They put a rush to settle. Should I retain a lawyer to look over my documents and see if everything is in order? Please let me know soon. I don't have that much time left. Thank you.
