Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Settlement

I received a letter for settlement. I'm not sure it is exactly what I wanted. It states that I will be severed from this debt for $$ however, they will still try to locate my X and get the rest. It also did not state that they would unfreeze my bank acct. What I want to know does that mean that they can no longer come after me when the settlement we agreed on is paid and unfreeze my acct or if they don't get it from my x they can come after me again? If there is a lawyer who would be interested in just making sure that my interest is being protected..preferably a lawyer who deals with collections. (If you can do this) I will retain if needed I would really appreciate the help.

Re: Settlement

If you are going to receive a stiplulation of discontinuance and a release you will be okay. Don't accept a letter. If you wish I can review the documents for you.
