Statue of limitations
I HAVE DEBT WHICH IS 21 YEARS OLD & WAS $750 & WAS PASSED TO DIFFERENT CLLECTIONS AGENCYS EVERY 10 YRS & FOUND OUT THAT I HAVE A JUDGEMENT BUT IT IS NOT ON MY CREDIT REPORT OR HUSBANDS. DEBT GOES BACK TO 1985 & NOW COLLECTION AGENCY STATES IT IS $3,000.00 BECAUSE OF INTEREST,COURT FEES. I WROTE 10 RS AGO IT WAS PAID & STATED STATUE OF LIMATIONS & DID NOT HEAR BACK FROM ANYONE IN 12 YRS & NOW IT IS THAT AMOUNT. WHAT DO i DO. THANKS.

A 21 year old judgment is not collectable.
(1) Do not acknowledge or indicate in any way in writing that the debt is or at any time was valid.
(2) Inform the agency that you do not recognize the debt and suggest that the 'Fair Debt Collections Act' prohibits their efforts or any contact with you.
