Statute of Limitations in NYS
Hello,
I always thought the Statute of Limitations in NYS for judgments was 20 years. Then someone mentioned that it was changed to 10 years. Can you clarify? Thanks.

It is 20 years. If the judgment is docketed in the county wherein real property is located it is a lien against the real property for 10 years...after that, unless renewed, the lien against specific real property is gone and only a general lien exists for the remainder of the life of the judgment.
