Stollen Credit Card

a friend stole his stepfathers credit card, rang up a bill of 5500 dollars. one of his friends was with him durring some of the charges and used the credit card in his presence. the friend also used the card once to make a purchase. what are the legal reprecutions for friend who used the card once? is there a possible jail sentence? how much money is the friend liable for? thank you for you're help.

The friend maybe prosecuted. If the charge is not too great, there may not be jail time

Restitution will most likely be ordered.
