Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Subpoenas and Collecting a Judgment

Hi:

I am judgment creditor in NY, with a 450K judgment issued in NY Southern District which has been transcribed against an Oregon debtor and the debtors various corporations. I understand that I can subpoena third parties that may have information about my debtor. I am a 3rd year law student and have prepared the subpoenas. I need to find an attorney willing to review the subpoenas and sign them. Does anyone know where I can turn?

please email me at [email protected]

Re: Subpoenas and Collecting a Judgment

YOu can have the clerk issue them. You don't need an attorney. ALl that the form states is that a judgment was entered (where, when and for how much) and that the party served with the subpoena must reply under penalty of contempt. You have to name the bank properly and serve it by certified mail at any branch (better if you find out where the bank's restraint/holds department is) and that's that. Of course there

are several types of subpoenas, information, restraint, etc. we use a combination of the two.

Good luck
