I'm being sued by a capital one over a credit card debt. Is it legal for there attorney to run my credit without my permission and why would they do this.

If the attorney is representing Capital One as plaintiff in an action to recover monies allegedly borrowed by you in a consumer credit transaction, then they may pull your credit report. There are several reasons why they would want to see your credit profile, for example, to see your payment status with your other accounts so as to understand if you have some ability to repay the capital one debt. My office assists people is resolving such collection matters. Contact me for a free consultation.
