Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York
Summons and credit counseling
I received a summons on Feb 10th that was dated Dec 18th. It was for a credit card bill. I have enrolled in a credit counseling service and this account was included. CCCS can't find out anything but they were told the agreement was rejected. The attorney who filed the summons said I have to talk to CCCS. CCCS said I have to talk to the collection agency who then referred me back to the attorney. I just want to resolve this matter but no one seems to know who is responsible for doing so. I am planning on filing an answer, but I also want to have the debt included in the CCCS agreement. What should I do?

File the answer. Depending on the Court you may be directed to arbitration. During arbitration you may be able to settle this matter.
