Would a widow have to pay off mortgage?

Will a widow be forced to pay off a mortgage of a house that the husband bought before they got married and was only in his name. The house is not worth the debt and the husband didn't own anything else. She also has the same situation with a car that the bank took back and still have a balance. Thanks
