Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
In 2003 I excepted an offer to plead guilty to decemenating indecent material to a minor the offer was to have to registrar as a level 1 sex offender for 10 years and take a class and time served (40 days). Now I hear that the law raised the registry to 20 years does that include me? It shouldn't right? I plead guilty to their terms and their offer of 10 years

The change in the law applies to those still serving out the terms of their initial SORA sentence, therefore it appears that it would apply to you. You can petition tthe court for different forms of relief. You should discuss this with your prior attorney or someone well versed in the SORA field.
