Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
17 year old arrested for petit larceny 12/2008. ACD if behave for 6 mths. Arrested 7/2009 for marijuana, paid fine, did community service and no trouble since. Cases still show as pending, why? How do I get rid of them? Was told they would disappear, and they haven't.

You must contact your lawyer who handled the case and ask that it be handled.
From what you describe it doesnt seem as though the marijuana case was disposed off with an ACD. Ill suppose that you took some sort of plea to a violation which although is not a crime will remain on your record. The ACD for the petit larceny should have been dismissed and sealed. Speak to a lawyer (preferably the attorney who represented you on the case) to try and take care of it for you. Good Luck!
