Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
My 17 year old son was issued an "appearance ticket" charging misdemeanor tresspassing. It states he was seen skating at a local skatepark and jumping the fence. It also indicates that the hours of operation was displayed. Apparently many teens were ticketed and have been warned since the park opened a few months prior. My son has not recieved any warnings nor has he been in any other trouble. How likely is it that this will be dismissed? Should a lawyer be hired?

The case should probably be adjourned in contemplation of dismissal. In essence dismissed if he stays out of trouble for 6 months. If you do not receive this offer than you should hire an atorney to fight for this type of dismissal.
