Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
18 year old teenager accidently breaks glass on door on MTA bus. While trying to alert an MTA bus driver (he wanted to get on the bus), the bus was pulling out and the teenager ran up upon the bus and knocked on the glass door and the door shattered upon impact. He was arrested; no priors - except for a summons that was issued to him four months ago, trying to enter the subway without paying. He was not arrested, a summons was issued. Summons has been paid in full.
Teenager has a court date - what do you think is going to happen? Does he need a legal representative?
Thank you.
