Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
My 16 year-old daughter snuck out to be with a 20 year-old man. Does he have to have had sex in the traditional sense to be legally accountable? does she have to testify against him? have you ever heard of police or attorneys talking to the man and having it help him stay away when we have no proof otherwise? happened twice. disgusting and heartbreaking. thanks

He can be charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child. I cannot guarantee the police will been interested unless they suspect there has been sex.
