Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Accomplice in Murder

I have a friend who has recently been charged for being an accomplice for the murder of his friend. What had actually happened was that he was present at the incident of his friend's death and living in a ghetto type of environment he was too young and too afraid to approach the police about the situation. He is now a legal adult but is being charged as an accomplice for not telling the police about the death. What can he do and what are the legal implications for such an act?

Your friend should get a criminal defense attorney immediately and not discuss this case within anyone but his attorney.
