Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

being accused of stealing money from work.

i am being accused of stealing money at work. the ammount in question is $3,000. I have not stolen anything nor do they have any proof or direct eveidence that i stole the money or know who did it, only the circumstantial evidence that i could have because i was scheduled to work at the time. if they had any real evidence i wouldnt be here asking for advice right?? But they are treating to press charges on me they even made me write n sign a paper stating that i saw somneone else doing it. here is the thing i was under duress and under very extreme presure to confess to it or that if i knew or saw anyone who might've done it.i ve been extorted and unlawfully confined. Now they have suspended me and want to sit down to talk to me with the police present. What should i do ?

Get a lawyer ASAP. This is serious. Do NOT talk to the police or anyone else without a lawyer present.
