Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

ACD Info., PLEASE HELP!!!

I was recently granted a year long ACD for posession of marijuana & paraphenelia. What does this mean exactly? What happens if I get a summons for something minor like being in a park at night, a speeding ticket, traffic infratcion, alcohol posession, and also does my record ever get erased from the police database? Is there a way to get the time of my ACD down? Please someone let me know ASAP I am dying here

Re: ACD Info., PLEASE HELP!!!

If you received an Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal (ACD) that means that they adjourn the matter to see if you stay out of trouble and dismiss if you do.

If you get in trouble in that period of time then they may pull that and go back to the initial charge.

The amount of time is usually set and traf. infractions usually do not impact it, but other misdemeanors will.

Don't worry those possibilities as described will not result in any disaster. After the year period expires your record will be sealed.Just don't get involved in serious criminal activity.
