Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Upon adjudication as a youth for a misdemeanor charge in the state of new york, do the records get thrown out after the sentence or are they sealed automatically. This is of course on the day of sentencing that a misdemeanor conviction would be replaced with a youthful offender.

the records on a YO do not get thrown out but only sealed. Unforntunately the YO adjudication usually shows up on a Rap Sheet so some one checking knows some thing happened without knowing details.
