Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Hello.
My name is Agne sand I am writing to you beocuse my exboyfriend want to accuse me of blackmailing and extertion.
I met him in July during holidays in NY and we fell in love. Unfortunatelly being European Citizen I could just start living in USA. My exboyfriend, who is also married with 3 kids which I knew, said he will take care of everything. He will pay for my apartment, living and school which will allow me to stay here on student visa. Unfrotunatelly he left me 2 months ago, in April. We had a conversation and I asked him if he can help me with 1 more semster of school which will start in September, . He agreed and said it will be his pleasure. Unfortunatelly, the dealine was comin close and he never conact me back. After sending him first email asking him about money, he paid a half, after sending him second email asking him for second half he said he will go to police and tell them I am attempting to blackmail him and extort him. Please tell me if those 2 emails sounds like threats and is he right.
1 text:
I am writing to you once again to sk you to pay school intution by tomorrow. Please dont play with me like that. Being a working USaA citizen you have so many ways to organize this amount. Lets not make our lives more stressful than it is already.
2 text asking for second part of intuition
You took me from another counry I left my family for you. You went from seeing me 4 times a week to nothing and stinging me like homeless puppy. It is OK that you decided to leave me but it is not OK that you dont want to hepl me. In order for me to finish my school I have to get work papers. The only way I can get work papers is if you can hel me pay for school and you know perfectly well 3000$ is not enough. The intution is 5,250. After all promises you made please keep this one at least. I dont want to complicate your life so please dont comlicate mine.
Is it blackmailing him? I never looked at it this way. He spended on me 50 thousend dollars during the year becouse we were in relationship and the day he left me I asked for one thing - 1 semester in school which is 5 thousend. I cannot understand it. Please help
