Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
I am an American and I was in a foreign country. I had a girlfriend there who told me that she was 18 years old. After returning home, I learned that she was really 17 years old. The age of consent is 18 in her country but it is 17 in my state. If we would have had sex, could I be prosecuted in the USA or extradited to her country?

Well, this question is not simple to answer. If the age of consent in the state that you live is 17 and she is actually 17 then there should be no reason you would be prosecuted for statutory rape in that state.
As far of the laws of another country, that would all depend on what country and what their statutes say about statutory rape. You might be wise to ask an attorney in that country if that is where both of you are living now.
