Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

answer me quick please

i got pulled over the cops said i had a warrent thay towed my car and took me to jail the next day around 2 pm thay let me go and said i do not have a warrent can i make a case out of this like a lawsute or something

You probably have a case. Whether it makes sense to proceed depends on additional facts such as how long you were incarcerated for on the warrant, if you have ever spent time in jail before, who issued the warrant, etc.

There is generally a requirement that you file a notice of claim within 90 days of the arrest.

This is a civil law question, but I'd say you have no chance on a civil suit since your damages are minimal and resulted (probably) from an honest mistake. If the facts were more egregious than you make out, then . . .
